Maine-Greenland Collaborations is a project that combines art with the social and natural sciences to explore cultural, environmental and socio-economic changes facing coastal communities in Maine and Greenland.

This site highlights the art and community practice component of the project which launched on Long Island, ME (USA) in 2020 and continued in the Kujataa region of South Greenland in 2022. Research and creative activities include: interviews with coastal residents, arts-based community workshops and treks across diverse land and seascapes.

Through these activities a repository of transcripts, photographs, videos and sound recordings serves as a basis for informing and creating intersecting narratives about changing ecologies and the lived experiences of Long Island and Kujataa residents.

The narratives will be shared through art exhibitions, scholarly papers and public programs with the goal of building beneficial, reciprocal relationships between Maine and Greenlandic communities.
